Alabama could be a transfer destination for Texas NIL star Arch Manning

Arch Manning is one of the most popular names in college football. While he currently plays backup quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, there are some questions surrounding his future with the team.

He is now also one of the highest paid players on the NIL marketplace.

Accordingly On3Manning is the No. 4 NIL athlete overall and No. 3 college football player. He was valued at a shocking $3.1 million.

To have that kind of rating without even being a consistent starting quarterback is impressive.

Why is his future in Texas a bit bleak? It has to do with Quinn Ewers struggling and seeing his draft stock start to fall. While the Longhorns could still work with Manning, they could also choose to stick with Ewers for another year.

If Texas sticks with Ewers, Manning could very well lose patience and look to play somewhere else.

Chris Landers from Fan sided took a look at some possible transfer targets for Manning. One of the top teams he sees as a potential landing spot is none other than the Alabama Crimson Tide.

“Manning has seriously considered coming out of high school with the Tide, and while DeBoer has an elite quarterback recruit in Keelon Russell in the 2025 class, that shouldn’t be a problem here: Manning just needs one year as a starter to establish himself “When Russell finishes his redshirt, he’ll head to the NFL.” And if Manning is looking for a place to showcase his talent, there’s no better system than this.

Landers makes a very good point. It would be electrifying if Manning played in Kalen DeBoer’s system.

During the 2024 college football season with the Longhorns, Manning made a few starts, but his role was inconsistent.

He has completed 67.8 percent of his pass attempts for 939 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. In addition to those numbers, he rushed for 81 yards and scored three more scores on the ground.

Manning is ready to play and he needs to play to improve his own draft stock.

It would be very foolish for the Longhorns to stick with Ewers over Manning. However, it is not within the realm of possibility.

Should Manning consider transferring, Alabama would be a very serious landing spot to keep an eye on.

Not only would he be a perfect fit on the field, but Manning’s zero money playing for the Crimson Tide would go through the roof. It could be a perfect situation for Manning, both on the field and for his wallet.
