Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham is giving off-field employees a six-figure bonus

In a college football season full of outstanding coaching jobs, there were few better than Kenny Dillingham’s work at Arizona State.

After three straight seasons, Dillingham has led the Sun Devils to nine wins in their first 11 games. They’re ranked No. 14 in the AP poll – their highest ranking in a decade – and have the inside track to secure the final automatic bid to the College Football Playoff.

Off the field, however, Dillingham has shown a willingness to take on a community-focused role in one of America’s fastest-growing regions. On Thursday night, 247Sports’ Chris Karpman told a story that underscored that willingness.

According to Karpman, Dillingham received a $200,000 bonus for winning nine games, which he then distributed to a group of 20 Arizona State employees off the field.

Karpman wrote that Dillingham told employees they would receive a significant bonus but did not tell them it was him.

Regardless of how the rest of the Sun Devils’ season plays out, it’s clear that, at least on the surface, they have the type of coach worth keeping around.
