The Reagans will gather around their family table one last time as fans bid them farewell Blue blood after 14 seasons.

The CBS drama premiered in 2010 and documented the life of Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and his police family.

In addition to the family patriarch, former commissioner Henry Reagan (Len Cariou) aka Pops, Frank has three children: Detective Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), ADA Erin (Bridget Moynahan) and Officer Jamie (Will Estes). Frank also shared son Joe with his late wife, but he died in the line of duty before the events of the first season.

CBS announced in November 2023 that the 14th and final season would be split into two parts. Part 1 ended in May and Part 2 started in October. The final section with eight episodes ends in December – and Us contains all the details about the series finale episode.

Season 14, Episode 18 is titled “End of Tour.” The episode states: “It’s all hands on deck for the Reagan family as they fight to stop the deadly chaos in the city as New York’s gangs band together to secure an amnesty for the release of their imprisoned members and those who are awaiting trial.”

“The last scene was, of course, at a funeral, so we weren’t even in the house the day we finished the film,” Cariou said TVLine in November. “Myself and some of the others, Tom’s group, Bridget and… finished that day Steve (Schirripa)and the others also finished that day before the rest of the episode was finished.”

CBS released images from the final episode confirming that the Reagans will all be attending a police officer’s funeral. Henry, Frank, Danny, Jamie and Erin are all spotted at the funeral, as is Jamie’s wife Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and Danny’s partner, Detective Baez (Marisa Ramirez). Eddie’s partner Badillo (Ian Quinlan), noticeably missing.

In a separate photo series from the episode, Frank meets with Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh), who is lying in a hospital bed. Eddie also wears a hospital gown at one point and chats with her brother-in-law Danny.

The cast of Blue Bloods doesn’t just play a family on TV, they’ve become a close-knit group since the series premiered in 2010. “I cried when I read the last episode,” Hawk, who plays Abigail Baker, exclusively said Us weekly in October. “There is sadness, there is joy and it is all summed up in the same beautiful final moments.”

She teased, “It will be the best kind of heartbreak and the worst kind of joy.” Hawk emphasized, “For the fans of Commissioner Reagan and his loved ones, there will be satisfaction,” noting that there is “no definitive ending.” .

Selleck eloquently expressed his disappointment at the show’s cancellation TV Insider in October: “I’m kind of frustrated.” He explained: “During the last eight shows I didn’t want to talk about an ending Blue blood but about the fact that it is still extremely successful.”

Selleck is still coming to terms with the show’s ending, especially since he said it was “taken for granted because it worked from the start.”

He admitted: “It will take a long time to sort this all out. I remember after the weekend (shooting the last episode) I said, “I have to go to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.” Well, there was no Monday. It’s just going to take a while.”

Describing his last day on set, Wahlberg noted that the most surprising thing about it was Selleck coming over to watch his final scene.

“He was there and watched. I looked across the room and saw him standing there,” Wahlberg recalled of an October appearance Today show. “Tom, he’s a really serious and focused man. He likes to cover up his feelings. He doesn’t like to show vulnerability.”

However, Selleck changed his mind after watching Wahlberg’s performance. “I looked over and he had tears in his eyes,” Wahlberg said. “That memory still resonates with me a lot.”

Wahlberg concluded that he didn’t want to say he was “sad” after the show ended, but did admit it was “emotional.”

Moynahan confirmed in September that the series finale would include a final meal together. “There are some nice reveals in the final episode of season 14, ending with the family dinner,” she said Weekly entertainment at the time. “Going to such a special family dinner in our final episode I think will resonate with fans. Fans will really love some of them. And then there might be a surprise that isn’t so hopeful.”

Hawk told exclusively Us that her character didn’t make it to the final dinner, joking, “I’m totally pissed about it and it’s fine.” This actress revealed in October that Sid Gormley (Robert Clohessy) was also omitted.

“The Reagans are just people who understand that family is everything and that no matter what happens, you still have to eat,” Hawk shared, noting that the group will come “full circle.”
