Firefighters are responding to two commercial fires in White County

A commercial vehicle fire briefly spread to the adjacent building at Phoenix Crane Service in Cleveland on Friday afternoon. According to official information, the fire was reported on November 29 at around 2:07 p.m.

According to White County 911 Communications, a passerby reported black smoke and flames coming from the side of the building at 2400 Highway 129 South.

Firefighters from White County and Cleveland, as well as EMS and sheriff’s deputies responded to the call. When the emergency services arrived, they found a commercial vehicle whose driver’s cab was completely engulfed in flames. The fire had spread to the nearby building, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish it.

Officials say no one was in the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

Later Friday afternoon, a second commercial fire was reported at the Exxon Express Mart #5 at 1900 Highway 129 South in Cleveland. Smoke was reported coming from one of the store’s refrigerators. However, upon arrival, first responders determined the situation was under control and stopped all arriving units.
