Seemingly every game in the Big 12 has implications for bowl eligibility, the conference title game, or both – and that brings us to Waco for our Kansas Jayhawks vs. Baylor Bears prediction. For Kansas, the season is on the line; A win means bowl eligibility and a loss ends the campaign. There are still some strange things going on for Baylor, where it is one of 9 (yes, 9!) teams that could still sneak into the conference title game. And to show how mediocre the Big 12 was, had Baylor not lost to Colorado due to a clumsy Hail Mary + OT combination, Baylor would be well on its way to the championship game. Wild. How do we play this game? I don’t see any way for this game to fall below the overall score of 61.5. I think both teams will go over the 30 point mark, especially given the motivation they both have to win.

One oddity of this game is that as of this writing (Wednesday), the Jayhawks account for almost 100 percent of the spread and money line tickets. If you want to bet with Vegas, Vegas will clear the table if Baylor wins. Honestly, I think Baylor is the better team – but a slow start has obscured that fact. The Bears have won five straight and have scored multiple goals for most of that time. However, Kansas is also hot and has won three straight games against ranked opponents. The Hawks finally looked like the team we expected at the start of the season. Right now, with two hot teams and two teams that are hot especially on the offensive side of the ball, I expect a lot of scoring. As an added bonus, this is one of the few places in the country where the weather is perfect – 60’s, sunny and fantastic. Both teams are expected to cross the 30-point mark, and both have had games where they couldn’t reach that score by halftime. This could be one of those games.
