The Nebraska Cornhuskers, Dylan Raiola and head coach Matt Rhule are under fire after losing 13-10 to Iowa on a last-second 53-yard field goal on Friday.

Although Nebraska held a 10-0 lead at halftime and limited Iowa to just 20 total offensive yards in the first half, Nebraska was shut out in the second half as Iowa struggled to win.

Iowa managed just five first downs compared to Nebraska’s 20 and managed just 164 yards of total offense to Nebraska’s 334 yards.

Despite the mismatches, Nebraska allowed Iowa to rebound and secure the win, improving to 8-4 while the Cornhuskers fell to 6-6 in the season finale.

Raiola completed 22 of 32 passes for 190 yards. Running back Dante Dowdell contributed to the total with 13 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Iowa quarterback Jackson Stratton completed 8 of 15 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown, while kicker Drew Stevens contributed seven points.

Nebraska ended its season with losses in five of its last six games and finished 13th in the Big Ten Conference.

Fans took to social media to criticize Raiola and Rhule for blowing their lead against the Hawkeyes, noting that the quarterback didn’t deliver a “Mahomes-like” performance despite his efforts.
