Mikaela Shiffrin crashes in her 100th career win at Killington

The best alpine skiers in the world are spending the weekend in Killington for the 8th Stifel Killington Cup. Burke Mountain Academy graduate Mikaela Shiffrin returned to competition looking for her seventh career win at the Green Mountain State and possibly her 100th career World Cup victory. Shiffrin started her final run of the day with the lead, but crashed into one of the goals and fell into the net. The winningest alpine skier of all time lay on the ground for 20 minutes before a sled took her to the base of the mountain. Official information from US Ski and Snowboard states that Shiffrin is currently undergoing testing. Sweden’s Sara Hector won her first race in Killington with a final time of 1:53.08. University of Vermont graduate Paula Moltzan was the top American in fifth place. Nina O’Brien followed in sixth place.
