OKC Thunder patiently awaits Isaiah Joe’s return

Oklahoma City got back on track Wednesday night against the Portland Trailblazers thanks to a tough performance from the bench. In recent games, the Thunder’s offense has been ice cold and the team has been unable to overcome the shooting slump. On Wednesday night, they finally found a way to pull off an ugly victory.

However, the Thunder cannot expect to win consistently in a goaltending slump like the one they find themselves in. The team needs to find a way to get back on track from 3-point range, especially if the offense wants to continue bombarding them at such a high volume.

A season ago, Oklahoma City was the NBA’s best 3-point shooting team by percentage. This season, the Thunder are making more triples and are 19th in percentage. It was a tough start to the season, and things have gotten even worse lately. Before Isaiah Joe Even though he was injured, he struggled from the outside and contributed to the slump – but he can be the one to help Oklahoma City’s outside shooting numbers increase.

Even when the threes aren’t falling, Joe makes the Thunder a better shooting team just by being on the floor. The spacing is much better and allows for an easy look for the rest of the team.

This season, Joe is averaging 9.0 points and 3.1 rebounds on 40.7% from the floor and 36.4% from 3-point range. However, Oklahoma City lacks its immediate offense, even if it has been more mixed than usual this year. Joe has scored in double figures in eight games this season, including seven in a row at one point.

With Cason Wallace And Alex Caruso With brutal shootings, Joe’s services are needed more than ever. A timeline has not been announced, but the Thunder could use Joe back in the lineup sooner rather than later.
