University of Arizona assistant hits head of helmeted player, bleeds from head

A defensive assistant at the University of Arizona will wake up Sunday with a massive headache … because he head-butted a player wearing a helmet in his excitement – slashing his forehead wide open.

Chuck Cecil — a senior defensive assistant with the Wildcats — hyped up one of his guys before the game … to grab the cornerback Owen Goss‘ helmet and slammed his head hard against the player’s.

Goss was wearing a helmet… but Cecil wasn’t – and after hitting his head three times against the player’s, he was bleeding profusely.

Apparently he didn’t have time to wash off… because the cut came later and in the game, and Cecil was clearly still bleeding from under the brim of his cap.

Unfortunately, Cecil’s attempt to inspire the players doesn’t seem to have worked… as Arizona State University is currently beating U of A – by a fourth-quarter margin of 42-7 at the time of publication.

The Wildcats came into today’s game 4-7…so they still won’t be going to a bowl game – so that’s really an injury on top of insult.
