Week 14 Prediction, Tips, Odds

It’s easy for college football fans to assume that the top 10 teams in the country are the only ones that matter after Thanksgiving, especially with the College Football Playoff expanded to 12 teams, but the Blue Devils could make some noise with a win in Week 14.

Despite being mathematically eliminated from the ACC race, Duke secured its second nine-win season in three years with a rivalry win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. In their first year under head coach Manny Diaz, the Blue Devils could reach double-digit wins for the second time in school history if they beat their in-state opponents and win the bowl game they end up in.

More important than any final record, however, is that Diaz and his locker room could win state on Saturday. The Blue Devils have already beaten the North Carolina Tar Heels (a 21-20 comeback win in Week 5) and the NC State Wolfpack (a 29-19 road win in Week 11). A third win in Winston-Salem would allow them to defeat ACC teams North Carolina for the first time in more than a decade.

Check out the pre-game odds for Duke’s final game of the regular season below.

Duke vs Wake Forest Prediction, Picks

There are usually reasons to complicate interstate rivalry predictions, but there is a good reason to keep this point simple. The Blue Devils are one of five ACC teams giving up fewer than 350 yards per game, and the Demon Deacons are the only team in the conference allowing more than 420 yards per game.

Forecast: Duke 30, Wake Forest 13
